Local information on this bridge states:
The Staalmeestersbrug (bridge 227) is a drawbridge in Amsterdam-Centre.
Besides bridge 226, it is the only bridge over the canal. The bridge, itself has been a municipal monument since 1995, and is surrounded by municipal and national monuments.
The bridge is a tourist attraction, but not always for the classic bridge itself. It is a bridge across Groenburgwal with an iconic view towards Zuiderkerkstoren.
Groenburgwal connects Raamgracht with Amstel.
On the painting 'Canal in Amsterdam' (1874), Claude Monet painted both the Staalmeestersbrug and the Zuiderkerkstoren.
