This is a sprawling hotel in the heart of Solihull, with part of it being The George Hotel, a 17th Century Coaching Inn, which is now Grade II listed building.
At some point, the weddings we photograph become 'old'.
Sometimes the people in them are no longer together, sometimes the wedding venues no longer exist as they were when the photographs were taken, sometimes wedding venues change names and as I have been in business since 2012, my style of editing has changed as have my cameras and a whole host of other things.
If I were to re-photograph a wedding I did in 2012 again in 2021, the images would be different and no doubt a number of other things would be different, but they are my images and I still think of them as being lovely.
So instead of consigning them to a hard drive in a cupboard, never to be seen again, I have decided to include a few of my favourite ones.
Unfortunately, there is very little information to be found about the Grade II listed part of the hotel. It appears it was built about 1693
The pictures here are from 2017 and looking at more recent pictures it appears to have changed as well as now being called Ramada by Wyndham Birmingham Solihull, although it appears a sign for the George Hotel still hangs outside.
